How to build a jet boat

We're often asked about the boat (Shearwater). When we set up Venture Jet we intended to commission a new one but it would have taken 12-18 months and we really couldn't wait that long. Shearwater came up for sale (with her original solid sides) so we bought her for her Ocean Dynamics hull and rebuilt her from there.
Jeremy Nickalls Fabrications made the tubes (a highly specialised job) and Mustang Marine did the aluminium work but Tim designed Shearwater as she is now and rebuilt her from the hull up with Jeremy's expert help. We spent 20 odd years discussing jet boat design with Shaun White of Ocean Dynamics and had a great deal of fun with sea trials! All that 'hard work' paid off when we came to our own boat.
You can buy a decent house for the price of one of these boats but they really last and for strength and manoeuvrability nothing else comes close. It was a long process but worth it!
