new seal pup
We have a new seal pup on the west side of Ramsey. Judging from the way the adults are behaving in that cove we may well see another pup soon. The forecast is changeable later this week, with variable swells and brisk winds but the pup is in a cove with a decent storm beach and boulder bank which will absorb the worst of any swell before it gets to the pup.
We still have good numbers of kittiwakes and fulmars. We’ve been seeing quite a few puffins around the North Bishop and good numbers of their cousins, the guillemots and razorbills, around Ramsey.
We’ve had a long stretch of really good weather, with the greatest challenge being trying to take video without ‘burn out’ because of the sun. Naturally as the school holidays approach things are getting a bit less predictable on the weather front but we haven’t had to get the drysuits out yet!
